Hearing Therapist
A fully trained Hearing Therapist visits the Disabilities Resource Centre Trust monthly to check and monitor people’s hearing. This is a free service available to anyone in the community.
The same therapist offers the same service to other Eastern Bay of Plenty areas including Opotiki and Kawerau.
The Disabilities Resource Centre Trust also sells hearing aid batteries at a discounted rate. For example, purchasing a pack of hearing aid batteries from us, you could save you up to $2 per packet.
The Hearing Therapist also stocks a range of special equipment and aids (such as phones etc) to make the life of someone with a hearing impairment that much easier, but these are not part of the free service. The Therapist will inform you of possible costs for equipment she may recommend.
