Social Group for Mobility Scooter Users Has Begun

A small group of people met at the Senior Citizens Hall in Stewart Street, Whakatane on Wednesday, 5 October 2011.  Organiser, Pam Geddes, said she was aware that many mobility scooter users were isolated, and many weren't aware of safety and maintenance issues around operating a mobility scooter.  This group has been formed to link sooter users together, have monthly outings such as a ride ending with a picnic at the Heads, and to offer education on the safe and legal way to operate a mobility scooter in public.

If you are interested in this group, you can either phone Pam on 0800 002 884 or talk to someone at the Disabilities Resource Centre Trust.
